About Us

The University of Plymouth has been involved in the delivery of part-time in-service Certificate in Education/PGCE (Post-Compulsory Education and Training - PCET) since 1980 and now has 420 students at the university and another 600 in the ten partner colleges. We developed a full-time route to the certificate in 1999 and now have 162 students receiving the £6,000 a year bursary (20 of whom are based at Cornwall College and 12 at Truro College). Four years ago we developed the new integrated Certificate in Education in Adult Numeracy/Adult Literacy/TESOL, a programme including the subject specialist modules (FENTO).
