About Us

Craven College is a medium-sized, developing rural college, set in the midst of the Yorkshire Dales, with two principal sites in Skipton (the hub) supported by a number of sites surrounding this hub. These supporting sites include the Centre for Rural and Equine Studies, the Centre for Construction and Heritage Skills and, further afield, the Aviation Academy, situated at Leeds Bradford international airport and offering a range of courses in airline operations.

In addition, the college has a 600-square-mile network of rural centres across the Yorkshire Dales, which, in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales National Park, forms the College of the Dales network.

"We wanted to provide an online individual learning plan (ILP) to support initial teacher training (ITT) at level 4, which is currently supported by a paper-based version. The creation of an accessible and interactive ILP hosted by the college’s virtual learning environment (VLE) would create a communication channel connecting tutors, students, mentors and learning support tutors over a wide geographical spread of North Yorkshire."
