About Us

Chesterfield College serves a large catchment area that includes the districts of Chesterfield, north-east Derbyshire, Bolsover, Derbyshire Dales and parts of Amber Valley. The college employs 594 staff (55.5 % female and 44.5% male) and in any one year enrols approximately 23,000 students. The college operates over three sites of its own and also has strong community links through 20 outreach centres.

College performance has been recognised externally: in March 2005, the college achieved Beacon College status and, in partnership with local schools, was awarded the 2005 Derbyshire and Derby City Annual Partnership Award for collaborative working. During 2004/05 the College also gained other external kite marks – Investors in People (IiP) re-recognition and Matrix Award for Advice and Guidance. The Department for Art and Design is also a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE).
