About Us

Broxtowe College serves a large catchment area across the borough of Broxtowe, with a total number of 18,000 learners in 2004/05. The college has three main sites, which offer a variety of full-time and part-time courses, but further provision is available at a number of community venues, schools and hostels. The college has approximately 400 permanent and 40 sessional staff, and prides itself on its strong links with businesses, the voluntary sector and public services.

Towards the end of this project, Broxtowe College underwent a merger with People’s College, Nottingham, which, on 1 June 2006 resulted in Castle College, Nottingham coming into operation. Since the merger took place in the latter stages of the project, the reports and materials still refer to Broxtowe College throughout.

"We wanted to develop an Individual Learner Action Plan (ILAP) that would pull together effective generic and subject-specific support from all those involved in a trainee’s development, including employers, subject-specific mentors, tutors, personal tutors and learning-support tutors."
